Description
The fig preserve is a popular classic Greek dessert and it is mostly served in Northern Greece and the Islands, where the semi-tropic land is abundant of fig trees. The trees thrive wildly, do not require any specific care, and they provide their fruits generously. As the fig maintains its form and wholeness after the jam process, it is a great dessert to be enjoyed on its own; it's a delicacy. Made in Egion, Pelopponese, Greece, the fig preserve by K. Klonis is the dessert that was traditionally served to visitors, in a small plate with a small spoon, to "sweeten them". Each housewife used to make her own preserve (fig, rose petals, eggplant, sour cherry) to proudly present to visitors!
