Description
Kashkaval is a semi-hard , yellow cheese with a salty, spicy, and nutty flavor from sheep’s milk made in Bulgaria. It is soft and ideal for salads and cheese platters.
It is a balkan kasseri cheese and it's often called the "cheddar cheese of the Balkans" because of its similar taste to cheddar cheese.
The cheese is allowed to age for six months, during which it develops a piquant, spicy and somewhat salty taste with a slight hint of olive oil.
